Choosing a Wedding Videographer

Finding a pro wedding videographer is significant as you need the final production to be something you can love and watch for years yet to come. There are a few things to remember as you look for somebody to take your wedding video footage.

When you have decided to get married and have set the date it is critical to book your wedding videographer as quickly as possible as all good wedding video, Sydney based videographers are scheduled well ahead. The most important thing you must understand when booking a wedding videographer is that you have to ask a large amount of questions.

Your marriage will only happen once and you wish to make sure that the standard of the video is good. Any pro wedding videographer will be very pleased to answer all your questions and have as many samples as you would like to view. Even if you know the reputation of a videographer and have been referred to them by someone you know, you need to still go to visit them first before booking them for your marriage.

When you visit the wedding videographer then you can ask some significant questions and ask to see some sample videos that they have previously done. If they publicize a 15 minute highlight marriage video in their package ask to see a couple of them, not just small clips but all of it. There are major lighting differences required for indoor and out of doors weddings so if your wedding is going to be an outdoor affair ensure that you see some sample videos of outside marriages. The examples that you are shown should be ones that were filmed by the marriage videographer who is going to shoot your marriage video, so take care you find out who the person is who will shoot your marriage.

It is important to ask these sorts of questions to be sure that you get the absolute best video quality that is available. Ensure that you discover how old the camera equipment is that the videographer is using and if it is going to be shot in true HD. What lighting systems do they use and how will the video sound be recorded are other good questions to ask.

Perhaps you don't need to understand the solution to a number of these questions, or perhaps you wouldn't understand the answers to them anyhow, but it is important to ask them. This way you can get a good idea of how professional the wedding videographer is by their answers or how long it takes them to offer you an answer . All wedding videographers, Sydney based professionals will be able to answer any query that you have if they are true video professionals and will not be hesitant in their answers.

The final production should be edited in a studio rather than on the camera as this will make a much better finished product, while it will cost more so make sure that the marriage videographers will do this for you and include it in the costs. Find out how long it'll take for the video to be completed once the wedding is over and always ensure that you order a few copies. Keep one copy as a back up and the others you can give to your mum and dad and other family members.

As the big wedding day approaches sometimes people forget how important it is to have arranged someone early to take the wedding video. Having captured your wedding on quality video is something that you will cherish for years. To reserve a wedding videographer for your Sydney wedding, contact us early to book.

Vital Questions to Ask the Wedding Videographer

If you were to hire a wedding videographer, the first question you would ask before looking for one is how long he has been in the profession? And the number of weddings he or his colleagues have shot.

And then, one would proceed to find out their style of technique of making a wedding film. In this section, one would be interested in knowing whether our typical videographer is inclined towards making the wedding look like a story or a documentary type, a cinematic style or an abridged version of the event, or finally, something that breaks fresh ground. Do they go by a prescribed or set format?

Is it possible to have the videos on Zune or iPod/iPhone format? Can he stream the video on the internet for your friends and family to see?

The next set of questions for the videographer will be about the kind of technology he uses to shoot and edit your wedding video. Does your wedding videographer have with him the present-generation digital video camcorders? In the event of there being a problem or hitch of sorts at the event, will our wedding videographer have a plan for a standby option? Will he still deliver top class wedding videos with the aid of backup plans like spare batteries for instance? Is it possible to edit the video? This is a good benchmark for judging how up to date or antiquated your wedding videographer is.

Will the videographer with whom you made the agreement be the one actually attending the wedding and videotaping it? Or, if your wedding videographer is too busy or tries to be too big, delegate the wedding to a colleague or friend? These could be important questions that decide whether you want to go ahead with the chosen wedding videographer. Will having the substitute result in a larger bill?

Will the wedding videographer provide full day coverage or will he only be there till the reception?

Another important question relates to whether he has visited the venue of the wedding beforehand. If he hasn't, is it going to be difficult for him to locate the place? In other words, is he going to reach there on time? If he can't, will he make arrangements for his substitute to reach the place on time?

Lighting will be another important factor. Will the wedding videographer set the light in tune with the mood of the occasion? What kind of lighting will they use? If you're having a romantic evening wedding with ambient candlelight, and they need the lights on in order to get footage, there could be a problem.

Finally, the final question is, how much does it cost to hire the wedding videographer! Does he offer a service guarantee? Does the videographer deliver the final product on time? What format will it be in? How many copies of the final product will you get? And on what format will it be on? What will the DVD case look like?

Wedding Videography - Helpful Tips in Making a Wedding Video

Helpful Tips in Making a Wedding Video

The wedding of your sister is coming up and due to a tight budget you were tasked to take charge of the wedding videography. Having the basic knowledge in digital videos and owning a camera does not actually qualify you to do the best job. It may seem like a demanding task but you decide to take the challenge head on. It can be a nerve-wracking experience but being prepared can do wonders for you. Here are some useful tips that will surely help you improve your digital videotaping skills in a matter of days:

• Use manual focus instead of automatic

Although all cameras have automatic focus, it is recommended that you use manual focus if possible. It is for the reason that you will have to switch constantly from one a plane to another.

Using auto focus can be a great help most of the time but unfortunately it is not perfect. In situations like macro photography, low lighting conditions, portrait shots, shooting through glass and action photography, the manual mode is much better used.

• Use both hands in handling the camera

To accomplish having a steadier image it is important to remember to hold the camera with both hands. This simple tip is usually overlooked by beginners.

• Plan your video shots

Plan ahead of time all the events of the wedding so you will have a clear idea what you can shoot on your own or if you need more assistance. You need to be able to manage your time very well because you can never recapture something that has already happened. You should also have a video timeline. This means in your wedding footage you should all have the elements that are needed to complete the entire wedding video. These include an introduction, getting ready shots, the ceremony, and reception.

• Interview the couple

A good addition to the wedding video footage is to interview the couple separately. Oftentimes this part is undervalued. Do the interview before the ceremony starts while they are getting ready.

• Shoot extra footage

One common mistake of all videographers is not having enough material for the wedding video or they took only one shot of a moment that could have been extraordinary. Avoid this by taking as many shots as possible.

• Your movements should be smooth

You should keep your movements smooth and calculated so that the images will register unto the screen the same way.

• Match camera settings

To prevent color mismatch, make sure the white balance settings are identical. Exposure manuals should be set in maximum control.

These tips are only a few things you can develop to be prepared in shooting the much awaited wedding videography. Remember these helpful guidelines are just the basics for a beginner like you. It is still important to have lots of practice and to gain lots of experience if you ever do decide to pursue the world of videography.
