Water Cooler Dispenser Types - Which Water Dispensers Are Best?

Water coolers typically fall into one of two categories; bottled and bottle less. The look of the typical water cooler dispenser has changed drastically in recent years, from bulky eyesores to sleek and stylish fixtures that blend into the decor of any type of home or office. These exciting new designs are featured in a wide variety of colors including natural wood finish, gold and stainless steel. They are an attractive and functional addition to any home or office.

Bottled Water Cooler Dispensers

In offices where a permanent alteration such as a plumbed-in water cooler is not permitted, a bottled water dispenser is the suitable choice. Because this type of water cooler dispenser is impermanent and portable, it can be placed in direct proximity to any work area, far from any water supply. This is especially convenient in temporary offices such as those found on construction sites.

Having a supply of bottled water to drink is particularly beneficial in areas where the tap water is unpleasant tasting or of questionable quality. In the home, a bottled water cooler dispenser is ideal in situations where permanent alterations to the premises are not permitted, such as in rental units.

Pros:

  • Ideal for spaces where no plumbing is present
  • Good alternative to tap water, which can sometimes be of poor quality
  • Portable and convenient

Cons:

  • Purchasing a supply of bottled water
  • Replacement bottles and empties require storage space
  • Full bottles can be difficult to change due to weight

Bottleless Water Cooler Dispenser

A bottleless water dispenser is generally more compact than the bottled variety because it lacks the bulky bottle. It is conveniently attached to existing plumbing for an unlimited free source of water. The water is filtered and then cooled before it is dispensed, converting even unpalatable tap water into great tasting fresh, clean water.

Although the installation of this type of water cooler is slightly more complicated because it is connected to a water source, it is virtually maintenance-free except for regular filter changes.

Pros:

  • Free unlimited source of water; no need to purchase water
  • No bulky bottles to change and store
  • Compact and virtually maintenance-free

Cons:

  • More complicated installation
  • Relatively permanent; not portable
  • Cannot be used in rentals or areas with no water source

Summary

A water cooler dispenser can be obtained from a variety of places. Most home supply stores carry them in one form or another, and water delivery companies such as Culligan also offer the units for lease or purchase. A host of online dealers such as Aquaverve offer both bottled and bottleless water coolers in a wide selection of exciting new designs and colors. Browsing the sites of many online dealers gives you the opportunity to view a large number of different designs prior to making a purchase.

Choosing among the wide variety of office water coolers may be a daunting task and it's best to rely on online product reviews and consumer opinions before deciding between bottleless or bottled water dispensers.

The Health Benefits of a Water Dispenser

I wanted to talk to you about the health benefits of a water dispenser. If you're unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, this is essentially something you would have in your kitchen to dispense water on demand. You're going to have a large jug on the top of it full of fresh water on it, so you don't have to put up with the chlorine water that comes out of your taps. Surprisingly these aren't that common in homes and people tend to buy small water bottles. The amount of money you're wasting doing this is quite amazing. I'm going to show you the healthy reasons why you should use a water dispenser.

I think the first and most obvious reason you should have one is that you're more likely to drink water this way. Most people don't even get anywhere near as much water as they should get in a day. I know that they say you should get around 8 cups a day, but that isn't accurate. 8 cups is more of a minimum and you're probably not getting it. When you have this device sitting in your kitchen, you're going to be reminded to use it and always be poring yourself a cup.

Another health benefit that you're going to get is that you'll be drink mineral water. There is a reason that people like the taste of this water and it is derived by your bodies need for these minerals. Normal tap water doesn't contain the little minerals you need and they are often neglected. This way you're going to get everything you need.

How to Clean Your Drinking Water Dispenser

It is a great thing to have a drinking water dispenser that provides you with the so needed element of life at the reach of your hand. Whether in your home or office, it is always important to drink enough on a daily basis and with a dispenser that becomes much easier and fun. The taste of the water begins to deteriorate after a while though, and that is a sure sign that your water dispenser requires cleaning.

With the use of vinegar you can efficiently and easily clean up the insides of the water jug and the insides of the dispenser where water normally goes through. Simply follow these steps:

1. Remove all of the water from the container. Make sure none is left and if you're having doubts, leave the vessel empty for a day or two so it becomes completely dry.

2. Pour in vinegar until you fill up the whole jug. With its acid qualities, the vinegar will effectively dissolve anything that has gathered inside, like dust, particles and so on.

3. After you put the water tank back into the dispenser, use the normal water tap to pour out all of the vinegar. By doing that you allow it to go through all the mechanisms and tubes, cleaning them as well. Make sure you remove all of the vinegar.

4. Boil enough water to be able to fill the water jug. Fill the jug while its still boiling. Put it back onto the dispenser (if it's removable) and leave it like that for a couple of days.

5. As with the vinegar, remove the water through the faucet, then fill the vessel with fresh water and check its taste through the dispenser. If there is still a bit of odd taste left, pour out all of the water and refill. That should be enough to get rid of all the taste that the vinegar left.

If you want to guarantee the taste of water in the long run, it is a good idea to repeat the above process once per month, if possible. By keeping your drinking water dispenser you are taking a further step into a better health care.

A Reverse Osmosis Water Dispenser Will Remove the Minerals From Your Water

So...you have decided to finally do something about the quality of water your family is drinking at home. However, you are not sure what type of system to use.

Most people have heard of a reverse osmosis water dispenser, but they are not sure if it is the right choice or not. We will start by stating that reverse osmosis water filtering systems remove important minerals from the water.

Another problem with a the reverse osmosis water dispenser is that chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides get through the membrane used for filtering because the molecules for these chemicals are smaller than water molecules.

Reverse osmosis water filtering systems can typically waste up to two or three gallons of water for every gallon it produces. This is not a cost effective way to purify your home drinking water. There are advantages and disadvantages to other types of drinking water systems as well. Many of the leaders in the industry do not use this type of system as well.

After many years of research, it is believed that drinking water with its natural minerals is just better for you than water with the minerals removed, which is what occurs in a reverse osmosis water dispenser. De-mineralized water is not natural, there is no place in the world where naturally occurring de-mineralized water occurs. The best choice for a drinking water system is one that uses a carbon filter.

Therefore, why should we be drinking this type of water? We were not meant to drink water without the naturally occurring minerals. We need a purification system that will remove the harmful chemicals but preserve the trace minerals our bodies require such as potassium, magnesium and calcium. Reverse osmosis water filtering systems do not preserve these minerals.

If you drink water from reverse osmosis water filtering systems, you run the risk of having some negative effects. De-mineralized water contains more hydrogen and thus is more acidic. When we consume an acidic substance, our bodies will pull minerals from our bones and our teeth in order to attempt to neutralize the acid. In addition, when our bodily fluids become more acidic than alkaline it causes an increase in production of free radicals, which thus causes an increased cancer risk.

In conclusion, a reverse osmosis water dispenser is not the best choice you can make when it comes to a home water purification system. Our bodies require the naturally occurring minerals found in clean, safe drinking water. We as humans were not meant to drink de-mineralized water. The choice is yours, what type of water purification system do you want for your family?

How can we be sure that we are getting clean, safe drinking water? A reverse osmosis water dispenser removes the minerals from our drinking water. The best type of water purification uses a carbon filter that does not remove the minerals! Visit our site today!

Bare Facts About A Reverse Osmosis Water Dispenser

It is unbelievable. A reverse osmosis water dispenser which was a top favorite once, seems to be gradually loosing its charm. With the growing awareness, people today are much more aware. If you have missed the details, here is a quick fact-sheet for you.

First things first. We need to understand how a reverse osmosis water dispenser works. It has a semi permeable membrane which has ultra fine pores on it. The contaminated water is forced to pass through this membrane. What is filtered and what is not, entirely depends on the molecular size of the contaminant.

Since water molecules are smaller than that of the pores, they pass through. Chemical and organic contaminants are larger in size, hence they are left behind. Thus they are separated from the water.

Fact 1: The pharmaceutical drugs which are a common contaminant have a small molecular size. The size is so small that they can easily pass through the porous membrane of a reverse osmosis water dispenser. Thus the water filtered from a RO is still contaminated and is still not pure.

Fact 2: The essential minerals like magnesium, sodium, iron found in the natural water have a large molecular size. Since their size is larger than that of the membrane, they are not able to pass through it, and are separated out from the water. Thus a reverse osmosis water dispenser ends up in de-mineralizing the water.

This de-mineralized water lacks all these minerals which are actually important for our health. Drinking water is one of the main sources of providing these minerals to our body. Consuming de-mineralized water results into mineral deficiencies, due to which various health problems occur. If you are consuming this water, you must take multi vitamins or supplements to meet the required content of these minerals in your body.

Moreover, since these minerals have been taken out, the water doesn't tastes good anymore.

Solution: The easy and proven solution to this problem is to use a multi-stage water purifier. These filters work by a combination of ion exchange and carbon filtration techniques. They are efficient in removing all types of organic and synthetic pollutants from the water, even the pharmaceutical drugs. They also enhance the pH in the water.

Unlike RO filters, they do not separate out essential minerals, thus retaining the form water is available in the nature – free from impurities and rich in minerals.

In conclusion, before selecting a filter, make sure to review and analyze the facts. The effective alternatives to reverse osmosis water dispenser are available. You just need to look for it and carefully pick the right water purifier.
